Guacamole muffins make Mondays better

Tonights' gym plan turned into me making muffins for the family (with help from mum).
They ate all of them in 10 minutes- just to emphasize how good they were. Made from avocado and leek with sour cream on top, definietly a reason to skip gym haha
But still, I love spending evenings and cooking with my parents and little bro, they make these dull Mondays a bit better :)

Shoe takeover

Mum suprised me one day- she bought me a new pair of shoes from our favourite online store Nasty Gal. Shoes are amazing; pointy metal tip and black leather, like she knew what I wanted.
So naturally, I had to find a way as soon as possible to show them off.
Let's just say that the whole night-out was dedicated to my new shoe obsession. I planned the whole outfit on the shoes. Like I said, it's a new obsession. You can imagine my happiness when someone complimented them haha
When it comes to high heels, I prefer ordering them online, because in Zagreb there isn't much to choose from unfortunately, and the ones that are good are usually sold out and everybody has them. So I like to order ones that are special and stand out. And this isn't the first time I planned everything based on footwear. Shoes really do tend to take me over.
Pictures are taken with my iPhone so the quality isn't much, I can't really take the big camera out with me in night.

Travel diaries - Canary Islands

This trip took place few months before this blog was created, but I still have fresh memories.

Since I was seven, my parents and I (and now my little brother) go to Canary Islands each winter. We can't stand the cold and none of us likes to ski, so tropical destinatons are the only thing left. There are seven Canary islands I think, and we've been to four of them, but mostly we go to Tenerife island, where we went this winter.
Those trips have a special place in my heart, not just because it's egzotic or something like that, but when you leave the country for two weeks, you get the time to re-evaluate yourself and others and you start apreciating other things. You change a part of yourself and become better, and you spend your time with the most beloved - family.
We stayed at this amazing hotel that was 6 ft from the main beach. The whole complex was designed in greek and egyptian style (we joked about it the whole time) and it had a huge mayan pyramid (like I said, we joked about it, it had no sense) with a Hard Rock Cafe on top. It was all Vegas-like.

The surrounding is peaceful, warm and beautiful. I got a lot of time to wander around all by myself this year (finally my parents decided to let me loose) and you can get suprised about how much one can discover by walking around alone. I always liked to walk and get lost in places, but this year it was really special. The city is small and interesting, people are nice and simple and souvenirs are to die for.
There's this boardwalk that goes for miles through the beaches and the city, and it has all those super cute juice bars and cute surfers walking around, and when you watch those people and how they relax, it's like a drug for the brain. That relaxing vibe tranfers onto you, and you get caught in that everlasting chill.

The most vivid memory of the journey was that one day, when my family went shopping, and I just grabbed ma bag and went for a walk, and it was nothing special just spontaneous. I was drinking a mojito all by myself in a beach bar, with spanish music playing in the background, wind blowing... It was so beautiful and special in its simplicity. In that simple moment you get to forget about everything you left behind; school, drama, friends, problems... Your mind gets healed from the preassure.

One big decision I made back there was to never get annoyed and always look at things calmly, never get anxoius. Always stressing and worrying can make a person ill, that's not a way to lead a life. We are meant to be enjoying, especially when we're young.

Of course, parents had to work so we had to shoot for their catalogue a bit, which was actually fun.

So in the end, I got to spend a lot of time with my brother and parents. We all had a good time, tanned, played a lot of card games.... Brought back some cool souvenirs and presents, all in all it was a great way to start 2014. :)

Expectations

“There were two ways to be happy: improve your reality, or lower your expectations”
― Jodi PicoultNineteen Minutes

The idea for this blog came up spontaneously and I really have no idea in which direction it will lead. With the whole rush and stress of growing up, going to school and dealing with people, I thought it would be nice to have some kind of release, so that's how 'Delightful in progress' came to life.
I'm a 17-going on-18 year old high school girl from Zagreb (Croatia), finding and forming myself through people and things going on around me.
This blog will be about things that I believe make someone's personality: taste, music, good reads, style, fashion, opinions and so on.
I hope you'll enjoy my little hedonistic escape from the reality. Posts will include style opinions, music, things I find interesting and new, etc. I would like to show people how I see on things and life, give the readers a chance to forget about their problems just for a second, while they're reading.
Have an open mind and enjoy :)
