Restaurant week

You know that feeling when you've discovered a new hidden spot in you city, that's just like your dream place in pure design?
There's been some time now I've been ogling a small bistro in the center, called Bistro Karlo. It caught my attention with dozens of old wine bottles settled on street-level windows.
Now that it's restaurant week, I've finally got an excuse and dragged Mum in for a lunch date.
To start with decor, it's classic petite, like-home design with marine details. It's a bit of a dim lightning, with beautiful art-nouveau chandeliers. Their wine chart is also worth mentioning. It's not big, but it has a nice collection of white wines.
Mum ordered the meat menu and I did fish. I had cod-fish in white style with caviar for appetizer, pasta with tiger shrimps, sprouts and chicory for primi piatti and for secondo it was sea bass with cauliflower puree and green beans.
We split our desserts; a fantastic chocolate tart and vanilla panna cotta.
The food was fun, very eye appealing. There is a downside, and it's the soul-lacking in the food. The moment you need to add pepper or salt, you know something's wrong. It was nice, but a bit cold and didn't leave any kind of impression on us the moment we left the place.
All in all, it was cute and fun, the place is a jewel in design, but the food is 10/10 in looks but 6/10 in taste, and I probably won't be coming back.
