Stealing the 1969s

I'm gonna steal a post today- I recently found something so amazing I can't stand not posting it!
It's a bunch of photos taken in 1969 of high school kids in their retro outfits. Authenticity of this pics is just too cool- people from this snaps look like they're from Coachella or some other hip music festival, when in fact, today they are 50-something year old folk and probably don't even have a clue that their photos from the hippie age are circulating the web. Every fashion fanatic would kill to have just a piece from that age, let alone a whole retro outfit like this. I can only dream of achieving a look like this....
Enjoy the photos :)

Early pressies

Some of the cute gifts I got from my friends- like I said before, most will be on vacation for my real b-day, so they brought me early gifts! I'm so so happy, little (and not so little-) things make my day. This is the first birthday I've celebrated in four years, so you can imagine how a few packages can make me super psyched.

Really cool hand picked candy from my friend V- she also bought me a golden chain necklace. This looks so good and cool I just want to look at it rather than eating it!

My dear friend I and T bought me this Swarovski bracelet. It's beautiful and fits me great- I always wanted a romantic chain bracelet like this. Thank you so much :)

Boys bought me this really cool - you wouldn't guess what - candle! It's from a low profile, a bit boho store called Top (name suits right). It smells like fresh cotton for real, no joke haha
And since Mum banished all scented candles from my room, this will be one she'll have to put up with! Also, I got this excellent Prada perfume- a girl can't have enough perfumes!

Thanks to all one more time, and keep up cause there's gonna be a book post some time soon ;)

A quickie with no photos

The last 48 hours were frantic- my friends and I celebrated my (upcoming) 18th b-day. I'll be 18 in a week though, but most of my friends (and probably me too) will be gone on vacation so this was the last that I got to put them all together.
We celebrated at a party house; place put in the middle of nowhere that had a pool and loud speakers. We ate a lot, drank a hella lot and partied until dawn. Most fell asleep in the morning (mostly because we got back from our school trip the day before, and God knows we haven't slept a night there either).
It was so so much fun and I love my friends for it! Thank you all for the great great night!
I got some really cool and beautiful pressies, but I'll get the most on my real birthday. People think I'm bullsh**ing when I say this, but it's so true- the best presents I can get from my friends are the awesome memories I got and the fun time my friends gave me.
Since I'm still all groggy and tired (slept 20 hours in the last 24 hrs - woke up only to watch GOT and eat a bit)- I'll post pics from my gifts some other day. Unfortunately, I only have a few pics from the celebration, most are blurry and not for public eye. There's a video and maybe I'll post it haha
Anyway, I'll write soon! School's over so I don't have much to do. I plan to do a lot of reading and prepping for college next year, also there's a potential plan to start running and exercising more, so keep up 'cause that'll be some of later subjects I'll write about ;)

Travel diaries: School trip (Part 2)

Second part of our journey was in Prague, capital of Czech Republic. We spent three days there- we toured the center and had a boat trip alongside the river Vltava.
It was so so hot and sunny all I remember was desperately looking for corner shops for water.

Prague's cathedral is just wonderful- I'm always awed with the church decor and how they arrange stained glass. Unfortunately, we were so tired and hot we only stayed for a couple of minutes inside, plus the crowd was unbearable.

Boat trip on Vltava was nice, we got an hour to just sit in a shade for a change.

Hotel was weird- they transformed an apartment building into a hotel. I got a small room me and my three other friends had to share, while our other friends got this huge apartment with two bedrooms, a balcony and even a kitchen. Their view from the balcony was amazing so (of course) we just had to use it for some pics. It had this shabby-chic feeling with this red couch and the view over the park. Now, clothes from this outfit were borrowed and this was staged up. Since I didn't take any picture of myself in the city, I had to take them in the hotel. My face is a disaster and I'm practically asleep here.
Everything on me is Zara.

All in all, we had a great time, although we fought a lot, we still managed to have a good laugh and much fun. Our guide was awesome, we only have the best words for him :) We even got to make relationships with our professors better.
If going to Prague or Krakow, it's a must to go out in one of their many clubs, drink Becherovka and/or beer, and just have a good time!

Travel diaries: School trip (part 1)

At the end of third grade, every school organizes a week long trip. Usually it's something like Barcelona or Greece, but my school took us to Krakow, Prague and Vienna (a bit of a downer at first, but not bad).
So we started our journey at 4 AM Saturday and arrived at Krakow where we stayed for three days. We made a quick stop to Brno on our way there. Brno is the second biggest city in Czech Republic.
Anyway, in Krakow we stayed in a hotel near the center; the hotel way okay, beyond our expectations anyway.
In three days spent in Krakow, we visited Auschwitz, the salt mine and toured the center. I liked it more than Prague, it's pretty lively and full of young people.
My advice to anyone going there: watch out at night. Our first night-out was a bummer- we overdressed and spent the night fretting for ourselves. In 3AM everyone's outside, mostly drugged or drunk, weird people giving out flyers, cops chasing people, funny looking fellas whistling and giving you the look... After that we played smart and spent our other nights at a Shisha Bar- guys played our music and let us stay there till the morning.

Pictures from Brno

While travelling, I was wearing Sisley jeans, Zara skull top and the BEST bag ever made- Longchamp. I swear, that thing would survive a nuclear attack.

I didn't really get much chance to get people to take a pic of me, either the pictures were blurry or bad lightning, so from Krakow I only got this- for the city tour I chose a light orange H&M dress paired with Mulberry bag, Buffalo sandals, Ebay jewellery, RayBan sunnies and Michael Kors watch.
Also, notice my new hair! :)

It's so difficult to decide where to eat when you're somewhere unknown. We stumbled upon a cute little bistro with a hidden cute terrace where I had the best cannelloni in a long time.

Travelling

School's over, hooray!
As a tradition, each generation goes on a week long trip at the end of 3rd grade. We are going to Prague, Krakow and Vienna (all the places I've been to, though). If it were our choice, we'd go to Greece or Spain, but it's the schools' policy. We're going tonight, err actually more like really really early tomorrow morning.
So I'll be away for a while, as when I get back next Friday I'll be celebrating my 18th birthday (!!!) so you can guess it'll be a busy weekend.
In the meantime, all I'll say is that I got a haircut today and done something completely different for a change, as I was inspired by my post about haircuts (don't worry, it's not dyed in rainbow colors haha).
I'll have so so many nice photos when I get back to fill up for my absence :)

Here's something to check out in the meantime-

Artist Benjamin Garcia does amazing abstract portraits, for more see link beng-art.com

Cool makeup (for inspiration-)

This is the most hilarious video EVER, a must watch!

Anyway, wish me a good trip and see you soon ;)

Playful

You can feel it in the air- school's just for two days and everyone's psyched about it. There won't be much of a text post today, I've got to prepare myself for my annual English test. Plus that, it was sunny and D and I got time to take a couple of pics. I felt playful today so I threw on a lot of tiny bracelets from around the world- Munich, Canary, Turkey, Rome...

Zara jeans, blouse from Graz (Francomina I think), Silvian Heach flats, Mulberry bag, RayBan sunnies, Michael Kors watch, bracelets from Ebay, Munich, Canary, Rome and Turkey

DRUGS

Something really cool I found on the web- an artist called Bryan Lewis Saunders did a little (or not so little) experiment. He took all sorts of drugs and medication, then made self-portraits under their influence. I assume it was dangerous and I have no idea how he got away with it, but what he did is pretty amazing. He did a variety of drugs, from marijuana and cocaine, to medical drugs like xanax or aderall.

Here are some photos, and here's the link to his website- bryanlewissaunders.org/drugs/
